Family Camp is back and this time it is bigger and better than ever! This is an opportunity for Squirrels, Beavers, Cubs, Scouts, Explorers and their families to come together and camp for the weekend and take part in some great activities.
This year for the first time ever we will be simultaneously running an exciting opportunity for small groups of our older sections to participate in a full day hike in the Peak District. Please see a separate letter and “Hike Weekend” OSM event for more information on this.
Our fifth Family Camp is going to be held on the 27th-29th June 2025, taking place at Barnswood Scout Campsite in Derbyshire. It is going to be a relaxing weekend, with a number of different challenges and activities to take part in, including wide games and a campfire. There will be a BBQ for Sunday Lunch to round up the weekend, followed by a short group AGM. If you or someone you know is interested in running or providing an activity please let us know.
This year Family Camp will be offering fully-catered and self-catered options. Tickets for everyone except Scouts and Explorers partaking in the Hike Weekend will be available on our website depotcornerscouts.com/family-camp until April 30th.
Tickets will include all food (if fully-catered), activities and camp fees.

DBS Checks
Please be aware that in line with the Scout Association’s Child Protection Policy all adults (those over 18) are required to go through our National Vetting Process (including a DBS Check). There is no cost for this, but you do need to pop down to get it sorted out. Time slots will go out for this nearer to the event. If you cannot make any of these times you will have to get in touch, failure to attend slots may mean that your DBS doesn’t come back in time. No DBS means no attendance.
