Necker

C and A are very proud to be one of the few groups in the UK who can wear a Red White and Blue Necker.

The story goes something along the lines that King George V visited the Barracks in 1917 before the explosion; The Scouts from 1st C&A Scouts met the King on this visit ( The Depot group was formed slightly later). He was so pleased with the help that the Scouts were giving to the war effort that he granted them the use of the countries national colours red, white and blue.

There is also some speculation that they were awarded to us for the help given in the aftermath of the explosion in 1918 at the Depot.

If anyone has any more information, and especially pictures the group be greatly interested.
